To educate students in a safe, positive & happy environment, it is important for them to have remarkable educators. So, we at SWS are continuously working in pursuit of personal and professional growth of our experienced and committed educators.
Reading is at the core of Shivashish World School. Our team of educators indulge in philosophical as well as management level readings every week so that they can create a healthy classroom community and encourage students to do the same.
Every week, SWS covers case studies, biographies, educational & pedagogical theories in the reading sessions.
Diwaswapan by Gijjubhai Badekha is a must read for the SWS Faculty.
Hence, the educators, learners and researchers are also taught how to use the school’s pedagogy with the students. Training sessions are held to help the teachers learn and create new teaching strategies.
Every week, the school conducts pedagogy related workshops and monitors its application through classroom observation.
Strong feedback mechanism has been put into place to strengthen the process.
The workshops focus on four things: Listening, speaking, reading & writing skills. The staff along with the parents are encouraged to attend these workshops in order to develop their verbal & non-verbal communication, interpersonal communication, thought articulation, storytelling along with other skills.
Verbal and non verbal communication is taught to the teachers with the help of different mediums like theatre workshops, microteaching sessions, teacher demo sessions, case studies etc.
They are taught body language and different methods of expressions to develop a confident body language which helps to conduct an effective teaching process and presentations.
We encourage our teachers to be a part of capacity building programmes by CBSE. The programmes engage our faculties in live demonstrations of the role of pedagogy in knowledge-based skills development.
The programmes involves syllabus mapping, rules and regulations by the board along with other board requisites.
Various assessment methods are put into place, along with aptitude test and competitions to monitor the progress.
The workshops cover concepts related to ‘Experiential Learning’ and implementing the same towards excellence.
SWS engages the faculty in live hands-on programmes conducted by leading experts.
The workshops help the educators in learning the latest tools and skills.
The ELT workshops explore the qualities and competencies of a mentor and how these might be developed. The workshops identify and practise mentor techniques and activities appropriate for the different approaches.
The experienced faculty of SWS gets a chance to be a part of a 6-level course that trains them in the American version of English language. It comprises of introductory sessions and five content modules delivered over a four-week period.
Live tutor-led interactive workshops are also conducted which motivates the teachers to actively participate in discussions with the tutors and their fellow participants.
The interactive workshops have innovative activities for the teachers to create a stress free learning environment. The activities help the teachers to stay updated with the board requisites and level up students to board level.
The content of the workshops are planned according to the prescribed syllabus of CBSE.
Time management is achieved through the school calendar which is also prepared on the lines of CBSE academic calendar.
