REGULAR READING SESSIONS

Reading is at the core of Shivashish World School. Our team of educators indulge in philosophical as well as management level readings every week so that they can create a healthy classroom community and encourage students to do the same.

How?

Every week, SWS covers case studies, biographies, educational & pedagogical theories in the reading sessions.

Diwaswapan by Gijjubhai Badekha is a must read for the SWS Faculty.

PEDAGOGY

Shivashish World School teaches its students with four main quadrants, ‘Activate, Explore, Experiment and Implement’. The students at SWS are taught the importance of “Seeing And Doing” instead of rote learning.

Hence, the educators, learners and researchers are also taught how to use the school’s pedagogy with the students. Training sessions are held to help the teachers learn and create new teaching strategies.

How?

Every week, the school conducts pedagogy related workshops and monitors its application through classroom observation.

Strong feedback mechanism has been put into place to strengthen the process.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS WORKSHOPS

SWS believes that teaching is only successful, when the knowledge of a teacher is combined with effective communication skills. So, every month, our school conducts various workshops for its educators, to enhance their communication skills.

The workshops focus on four things: Listening, speaking, reading & writing skills. The staff along with the parents are encouraged to attend these workshops in order to develop their verbal & non-verbal communication, interpersonal communication, thought articulation, storytelling along with other skills.

How?

Verbal and non verbal communication is taught to the teachers with the help of different mediums like theatre workshops, microteaching sessions, teacher demo sessions, case studies etc.

They are taught body language and different methods of expressions to develop a confident body language which helps to conduct an effective teaching process and presentations.

CBSE EXAM RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Central Board of Secondary Education recommends a set of compulsory teacher training programmes. These programmes equip our educators with effective teaching methodologies needed for the millennial generation of students.

We encourage our teachers to be a part of capacity building programmes by CBSE. The programmes engage our faculties in live demonstrations of the role of pedagogy in knowledge-based skills development.

How?

The programmes involves syllabus mapping, rules and regulations by the board along with other board requisites.

Various assessment methods are put into place, along with aptitude test and competitions to monitor the progress.

NEP IMPLEMENTATION BY ORANGE SLATES

At SWS, the National Education Policy (NEP) by the Ministry of Education was executed by collaborating with Orange Slates which is one of the largest platforms to buy verified educational services.

The workshops cover concepts related to ‘Experiential Learning’ and implementing the same towards excellence.

How?

SWS engages the faculty in live hands-on programmes conducted by leading experts.

The workshops help the educators in learning the latest tools and skills.

ELT WORKSHOP BY OXFORD UNIVERSITY

SWS provides various professional courses to its students and teachers. The English Language Teaching or ELT by Oxford University is one such training provided to the teachers to better their grip on the English language

The ELT workshops explore the qualities and competencies of a mentor and how these might be developed. The workshops identify and practise mentor techniques and activities appropriate for the different approaches.

How?

The experienced faculty of SWS gets a chance to be a part of a 6-level course that trains them in the American version of English language. It comprises of introductory sessions and five content modules delivered over a four-week period.

Live tutor-led interactive workshops are also conducted which motivates the teachers to actively participate in discussions with the tutors and their fellow participants.

CONTENT AND TIME MANAGEMENT BY CBSE

CBSE Workshops on ‘classroom management’ helps our educators to focus on content management and enlightens them with effective tips on time management. The workshops guide the teachers to properly implement the National education policy 2020, National framework for children, pedagogical practices etc.

The interactive workshops have innovative activities for the teachers to create a stress free learning environment. The activities help the teachers to stay updated with the board requisites and level up students to board level.

How?

The content of the workshops are planned according to the prescribed syllabus of CBSE.

Time management is achieved through the school calendar which is also prepared on the lines of CBSE academic calendar.

WORKSHOP BY EXTRA MARKS

The teacher training programme at SWS has been designed to provide opportunities to teachers to participate in professional learning communities.

Extra Marks, is an app prepared under expert supervision of a top academic panel and SWS educators generously share their knowledge with others via this platform.

How?

Extra Marks facilitate educators of SWS to create and publish their own customized assessment papers.

It makes invigilation, marking and result management very easy for the teachers.
